..........where the music loving clubber comes first!
Paul Lyons has been on the DJ circuit since 1984. His early sets were mainly funk and soul, then later hip hop was added to his repertoire, playing at clubs such as “The Venue” and the infamous Lloyds.
In the early 90's Paul discovered the energy of house music and was one of the first DJs to bring this to the clubs of Cardiff. In 1998 Paul decided to broaden his horizons by getting involved in the production of music. He quickly launched his own studio and managed and produced several projects including the Cardiff Centenary CD Collection for Cardiff City Council.
He is a music technology tutor at IMMTECH in Cardiff and continues to develop artistes and produce his own material. He recently received a platinum award from Future Music for a guitar sample CD compiled with the world class Guitarist Dr. Ika. His latest projects include a down tempo album with studio engineer Mark Kennedy an integral member of the Deep Cut production outfit. The album features vocalist Katherine Cheshire. The eagerly awaited album has been two years in the making and is close to completion.
Paul has also been busy writing and recording new house tracks with diva Dionne Bennett and soul singer Leighton Jones, due for release this summer. Paul is totally dedicated to music and basically eats, drinks and sleeps music. His tastes vary from Jazz to Classical and from Dub to Dance it’s as broad as that!!!
Paul is currently a resident at the Red Rooms in Cardiff as well as bookings throughout the UK.
